Poseidon Quartet
This year’s summer concert ends with one of the Nordic countries leading ensembles performing string quartets of Schumann and Brahms.

The name Poseidon Quartet comes from the God of the sea sea, earthquakes, storms and horses, in which the four musicians strive to bring forth atmosphere and contrasts in the music - from savagery, temperament and stirring waves to peace, contemplation and complete silent sea.
Schumann and Brahms
First we will experience Schumann’s string quartet no 2, with its stirring enforcement. Thereafter comes Brahms’ string quartet in C Minor. First movement is dark and stormy, second movement is a lyrical romance. Third movement is a peaceful intermezzo before the first intense last movement recreates a nervous breakthrough from the first movement. Towards the end an acceleration of the tempo and quartet ends breathtakingly.
